Dear Port O’Connor,

We have experienced an increased number of students and staff impacted by COVID -19. As a result, some students and staff are at home and in quarantine. Not everyone in quarantine is ill, some are simply at home as a precaution.

Until all Port O’Connor staff members can return, we will be making a few changes to our schedule. The 4th and 5th grade classes will use the auditorium where students can be distanced. Teachers in quarantine will maintain a Google classroom and remote into the class.  We will also have a district employee join us in the cafeteria for supervision during lunchtime.

All students and staff will continue to wear masks, wash hands and socially distance. Our students are learning and we are glad they are here. Hopefully, we will have our entire staff back on campus soon. Until then, I just wanted to keep parents informed.

Reminder: CCISD offers free and non-invasive COVID testing for all students and staff by appointment. For more information, please visit www.calcoisd.org

Sincerely,
Kelly Wehmeyer
Principal
